It's time to prioritise you again

You've been through a life-changing event and you're ready to start taking care of your health again. Your health may have taken a hit while you were simply surviving. You want to feel healthier and more like yourself, but the overwhelm is keeping you stuck. You know what you need to do, but don't know where to start. You need to stop trying to do it all and start focusing on what actually works for you. Write Your Way To Wellness will help you do exactly that.

a different approach to health

I created this course after losing my husband way too soon to cancer. In the aftermath, I struggled to take care of myself properly, turning to cake for lunch way more than felt good. Grief also meant I struggled to sleep and the lack of motivation resulted in weight gain. And when I felt ready to look after myself again, it felt like too much. Journaling gave me somewhere to put everything down on paper, work out what I needed and start thinking about what came next.I get it. I've been where you are and I know how hard it is to take those first steps back to health. So, we're going to break them down and take them together. We'll explore what really makes a difference to your health and reflect on what's important to you, notice patterns and work out what actually fits into your life. This isn't about following another set of rules or doing everything perfectly. It's about giving you the knowledge, tools and confidence to make meaningful changes in a way that works for you. You'll explore different ways of journaling along the way, keeping the techniques that work for you and leaving behind the ones that don't. By the end of our six weeks together, you'll have practical tools you can continue using long after the course has finished.

FAQs

Do I need any journaling experience? Not at all. You don't need to have journaled before, and there's no right or wrong way to do it. You'll explore different techniques throughout the six weeks and decide which ones work for you.Do I have to share what I write?Absolutely not. In fact, I'll encourage you to write for yourself rather than thinking about what you might share with the group. When we write knowing someone else is going to read or hear it, it's very easy to start editing ourselves. Your journal is your space. There will be opportunities to join the discussion if you want to, but you'll never be expected to share anything you've written. What if I miss a session? Each session will be recorded, so if you can't make one of the live sessions, you'll be able to catch up afterwards. What do I need for the sessions?A pen, something to write in and a quiet and comfortable place to join us from. Drinks and good snacks are always a good idea too. What happens after the six weeks? You'll keep your digital workbook, journaling prompts and the techniques you've learned, so you can continue using them long after the course has finished. I'll also share ideas during the final session for how you can take what you've discovered and continue building on it.Is this therapy? No. Write Your Way To Wellness is a wellbeing and journaling course, not therapy or a substitute for mental health or medical support. We'll use journaling for reflection and explore practical ways to support your health and wellbeing.
